Getting There

• Car

  If you're within 50 kilometers of Glacier National Park, the most convenient way to reach the park is by car. From Kalispell, take US-2 E for approximately 30 kilometers. Then, merge onto MT-486 N which leads directly to the park entrance. Follow the signs for Glacier National Park as you approach. Be sure to have your vehicle fueled and check for any potential road closures or construction that might affect your travel.

• Public Transportation

  If you're using public transportation, you can take a bus from Kalispell to West Glacier. The Flathead Valley Community College offers shuttle services that operate on a seasonal basis. Check their schedule ahead of time to ensure availability. Once you arrive at West Glacier, you can either walk or take a local shuttle to the park's entrance, which is just a short distance away.

• Bicycle

  For the adventurous, biking to Glacier National Park is an option. If you're near the park, especially along the Going-to-the-Sun Road, you can bike to the entrance. Be sure to wear a helmet and follow road safety guidelines. Note that there might be bike rental services in nearby towns, such as Columbia Falls or Kalispell, which can be arranged ahead of time.

• Walking

  If you are very close to one of the park's entrances (like West Glacier), walking is feasible. Follow local trails or roads leading to the entrance. Be aware that walking long distances can be tiring, and you should have adequate supplies like water and snacks. Additionally, ensure you have a map or a GPS-enabled device for navigation.
