    Start your journey from downtown Columbia Falls. Head southeast on Nucleus Ave towards 5th St W. Continue straight onto 5th St E, and follow it as it becomes the Columbia Falls Stage Rd. After about 0.5 miles, you will reach the intersection with Berne Rd. Turn left onto Berne Rd and continue walking for approximately 1.5 miles. You will see signs for Columbia Mountain and the trailhead on your right.

    Begin at the center of Columbia Falls and head south on Nucleus Ave. Turn right onto 5th St W, then continue onto Columbia Falls Stage Rd. Follow this road for about 0.5 miles. When you reach Berne Rd, take a left and bike along Berne Rd for about 1.5 miles until you see the trailhead for Columbia Mountain on your right. Ensure your bike is suitable for the terrain.

  • Public Transport (Bus)

    From downtown Columbia Falls, walk to the nearest bus stop on Nucleus Ave. Take the Flathead County public transit bus heading towards Kalispell. Request to get off at the stop closest to Berne Rd. From there, it is about a 10-minute walk to the Columbia Mountain trailhead. Head east on Berne Rd until you reach the trailhead signs on your right.
