From Flathead Lake, head south on MT-35 S. Continue on MT-35 S for approximately 11 miles. You will pass through the town of Bigfork. After about 11 miles, take a left onto MT-83 S toward Swan Lake. Follow MT-83 S for about 12 miles until you reach Swan Lake. Once in Swan Lake, look for the signs directing you to Flathead National Forest. The forest entrance is located just off the highway. Be sure to check for any parking fees or permits required for access.

If you are traveling by public transportation, you can take a shuttle or a bus from towns around Flathead Lake to Swan Lake. Greyhound and local shuttle services may have routes that connect Flathead Lake with Swan Lake. Upon arriving in Swan Lake, you may need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to reach the entrance of Flathead National Forest, which is about 5 miles from the town center.
