Car
If you are in Gallatin National Forest and wish to reach Custer Gallatin National Forest, get onto US-191 S from your current location. Continue driving south on US-191 for approximately 30 miles. After reaching the junction with MT-78, take a right turn onto MT-78. Continue for about 20 miles, and then take a left onto Forest Road 102. Follow this road for about 5 miles, and you will reach the entrance to Custer Gallatin National Forest. Be aware that some sections of Forest Road 102 may be unpaved, so proceed with caution.

Currently, public transportation options are limited in the rural areas surrounding Gallatin National Forest. However, you can take a Greyhound or local bus service to the nearest town that offers shuttle services to Custer Gallatin National Forest. From Bozeman, MT, take a bus to Nye, MT. From there, you may need to arrange for a local taxi or rideshare service to cover the remaining distance of about 10 miles to the entrance of Custer Gallatin National Forest.
