Public Bus
Take the Skyline Bus from the Big Sky Town Center. Board the bus at the Town Center stop, which is near the Big Sky Visitor Center. Make sure to check the bus schedule for the latest departure times. The bus will take you along Highway 191 towards West Yellowstone. Get off at the stop closest to the entrance of Yankee Jim Canyon, which is approximately a 30-minute ride. From the bus stop, walk south along the road for about 10 minutes until you reach the canyon entrance.

Bicycle Rental
Rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops in Big Sky, such as Big Sky Resort Rentals. Once you have your bike, start at the Big Sky Town Center, head south on Lone Mountain Trail. Continue straight until you reach Highway 191. Turn left onto Highway 191 and ride carefully along the shoulder for about 6 miles. Look for signs indicating Yankee Jim Canyon. Upon reaching the canyon, lock your bike at the designated bike rack and enjoy your visit.

Walking
If you're up for a walk, start at the Big Sky Town Center. Head south on Lone Mountain Trail for about 2 miles until you reach Highway 191. Carefully cross the highway and continue walking south along the roadside for about 6 miles. The walk will take around 2 hours, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated. Keep an eye out for signs leading to Yankee Jim Canyon as you approach.
