Walking
If you're starting from the Great Falls Public Library located at 301 2nd Ave N, head east on 2nd Ave N towards 3rd St N. Turn right onto 3rd St N and continue until you reach River Drive N. Turn left onto River Drive N and follow the riverbank. Continue straight, passing by the Giant Springs State Park on your left. Stay on the River’s Edge Trail, which is a scenic walking path along the Missouri River. After approximately 1.5 miles, you will see the entrance to Black Eagle Memorial Island on your right. Follow the signs to access the island.
Biking
From the Great Falls Civic Center at 2 Park Dr S, start by biking north on 2nd Ave S toward 1st St S. Turn left onto 1st St S and ride until you reach the intersection with River Drive S. Turn right onto River Drive S and then follow the bike path along the river. Continue along the River's Edge Trail, which is well-marked for cyclists. After roughly 2 miles, the trail will lead you directly to Black Eagle Memorial Island. Look for the signs indicating the entrance to the island.

Check the local public transit schedule for the Great Falls area. If a bus route is available that goes along River Drive or connects to the River's Edge Trail, take that bus. Disembark at the nearest stop to River Drive N. From there, walk north towards River Drive and follow the path along the river until you reach Black Eagle Memorial Island.
