Getting There

  • Public Bus

    From Kalispell, take the Flathead Transit bus (Route 2) towards Bigfork. Board the bus at the Kalispell Transit Center located at 40 1st St E. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the Bigfork stop. Once you get off, walk east along Electric Ave for about 0.5 miles until you reach Montana Hwy 35. Turn left onto Montana Hwy 35 and continue walking for about 1 mile. Wayfarers / Flathead Lake State Park will be on your left at 8600 Montana Hwy 35.

  • Bicycle Rental

    If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the local shops in Kalispell, such as Glacier Cyclery located at 215 1st Ave E. After renting a bike, head east on 1st Ave E, then turn left onto N Main St. Follow N Main St until you reach MT-82 E, and then take a right onto MT-82 E. Continue for about 10 miles until you reach Bigfork. Once in Bigfork, follow signs to Montana Hwy 35 and turn left. The park entrance at 8600 Montana Hwy 35 will be on your left.

  • Taxi or Rideshare

    You can use a taxi or rideshare service (like Uber or Lyft) from anywhere in Kalispell. Simply input 'Wayfarers / Flathead Lake State Park, 8600 Montana Hwy 35, Bigfork, MT 59911' as your destination. The ride will take approximately 25-30 minutes depending on traffic. Start at the Kalispell City Park on 4th Ave E, then follow 4th Ave E to N Main St. Continue north along N Main St until you reach MT-82 E. Follow MT-82 E for about 10 miles towards Bigfork. Once you enter Bigfork, continue on until you reach Montana Hwy 35, then turn left. Walk for another mile and Wayfarers / Flathead Lake State Park will be on your left. This is a long trek, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring plenty of water!
