Public Transit
To reach Whitefish Campground from Kalispell, start by heading to the nearest bus stop. You can catch the Flathead County public transit bus heading towards Whitefish. Make sure to check the bus schedule for the latest departures. Once on the bus, inform the driver that you're going to Whitefish Campground. The ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Get off at the stop closest to the campground. From the bus stop, walk approximately 0.5 miles east on W Lakeshore Dr, and you will see the entrance to Whitefish Campground on your left.
Bicycle
If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Kalispell. Head north on N Main St, then take a left onto W Center St. Follow this road until you reach the intersection with US-93 N. Turn right and continue on US-93 N for about 6 miles. After passing through Whitefish, turn left onto W Lakeshore Dr. Follow W Lakeshore Dr for about 1 mile, and you will see Whitefish Campground on your right. The total bike ride is around 7-8 miles, so plan accordingly.
Walking
While walking to Whitefish Campground from Kalispell is quite a distance, it's doable for the adventurous tourist. Start from downtown Kalispell and head west on W Center St. Continue walking straight until you reach US-93 N. Follow the sidewalk along US-93 N towards Whitefish. This route is approximately 7 miles and will take you through some beautiful Montana scenery. Once you reach Whitefish, turn left onto W Lakeshore Dr and walk for about another mile to find the campground on your right.
