Public Bus
From Polson, head to the nearest bus stop on Main Street. Catch the 'Flathead Lake Bus' which operates service towards Bigfork. Make sure to check the bus schedule for exact timings. After approximately 30 minutes, get off at the 'Bigfork' stop. From there, you can either walk or take a local taxi for the remaining distance. To reach Yellow Bay / Flathead Lake State Park, walk east on Electric Avenue until you reach Montana Hwy 35. Turn left and continue walking for about 1 mile. The park entrance will be on your right.

Bicycle Rental
If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from a local rental shop in Polson. Start your journey by heading northeast on Main Street until you reach the intersection with Montana Hwy 35. Turn left onto Montana Hwy 35 and follow the road for about 10 miles, enjoying the scenic views of Flathead Lake. Yellow Bay / Flathead Lake State Park will be on your left. Remember to wear a helmet and obey traffic rules.

Walking
For a more adventurous approach, you can walk from Polson to Yellow Bay / Flathead Lake State Park. Start at the center of Polson and head northeast on Main Street towards Montana Hwy 35. Once you reach the highway, turn left and continue walking along Montana Hwy 35. It’s about a 10-mile walk, so wear comfortable footwear and bring water. The park will be located on your left side. It’s advisable to start early in the morning to enjoy the day at the park.
