Public Bus
From downtown Whitefish, walk to the Whitefish Transit Center located at 500 Depot St. Take the Flathead County Transportation bus heading to West Glacier. The ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Make sure to check the bus schedule in advance for departure times, as service may be limited. Get off at the West Glacier stop, which is the closest stop to the Apgar Visitor Center.
Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Whitefish. Head towards Highway 93 S, then take the right onto the Glacier National Park entrance road. Follow the road for about 15 miles which will lead you directly to the Apgar Visitor Center. It’s a scenic ride, so be sure to enjoy the views along the way!
Walking
If you’re feeling adventurous and physically able, you can walk towards the Apgar Visitor Center. Start at the Whitefish Depot and head south on Highway 93. This is a long trek of approximately 13 miles, so ensure you have plenty of water and snacks. It’ll take several hours, so plan accordingly!
