Car
From the town of Žabljak, take the road towards the town of Mojkovac. After approximately 25 km, look for signs directing you to Bukumirsko Lake. You'll turn off the main road onto a smaller, gravel road. Continue on this road, which is well-marked, for about 15 km until you reach the lake. Note that the last section might be challenging due to uneven surfaces, so a vehicle with good clearance is recommended.
Public Transportation
Start by taking a bus from Žabljak to the nearby town of Mojkovac. Buses run regularly, and the journey takes about 30 minutes. Once in Mojkovac, you will need to take a taxi to Bukumirsko Lake, as public transportation options are limited in this area. The taxi ride will cost approximately 15-20 EUR and will take around 20-25 minutes. Be sure to arrange for a return taxi, as there may not be taxis readily available at the lake.
Hiking
If you're feeling adventurous and are already in the vicinity of the lake, consider hiking from the nearby area of the village of Bukovica. This hike is about 8 km and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The trail is well-marked, but be sure to bring plenty of water and snacks, as there are no facilities along the way.
Use Bukumirsko Lake as your starting point for nearby food, family ideas, nightlife, and more local discoveries.
