Walking
If you are starting from the Herceg Novi waterfront promenade (Riva), head east along the promenade. Enjoy the beautiful views of the bay as you walk for about 15 minutes until you reach the main square (Trg Nikole Đurkovića). From the square, take the road that leads uphill towards the Old Town. Continue straight until you reach the entrance of Forte Mare Fortress, which is located just past the small bridge on the north side.

Public Transportation
If you prefer taking a bus, head to the main bus station located near the center of Herceg Novi. Look for the local buses heading towards Igalo or Meljine. Get off at the stop closest to the Old Town. From there, follow the signs towards the fortress, which involves walking uphill for about 10 minutes. The entrance is across the small bridge on the north side.

You can easily find a taxi at various locations throughout Herceg Novi, especially near the waterfront or the main square. Ask the driver to take you to Forte Mare Fortress. The ride will only take about 5 minutes, and you'll be dropped off near the entrance, which is across the small bridge on the north side.
