From the Old Town of Kotor, head towards the main road, which is called the 'Mala riva' or 'Small Quay'. Walk along the waterfront, enjoying the views of the bay. Continue along the waterfront until you reach the large square known as 'Trg od Oruzja' (Square of Weapons). From here, take the exit towards the bus station by following the road signs. When you reach the bus station, find the bus to Podgorica, which leaves frequently throughout the day.
Bus
Once you arrive at the bus station in Kotor, look for the ticket booth where you can purchase a ticket to Podgorica. Buses are usually marked with their destination. The journey will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive in Podgorica, the bus will drop you off at the main bus station. From there, you can either walk or take a taxi to reach Independence Square.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route after arriving at the bus station in Podgorica, you can take a taxi directly to Independence Square. Just inform the driver that you want to go to 'Trg nezavisnosti' (Independence Square). The taxi ride should take about 10 minutes, depending on traffic.
Walking
If you choose to walk from the bus station in Podgorica to Independence Square, exit the bus station and head south on 'Bulevar Svetog Petra Cetinjskog'. Continue straight until you reach a roundabout, then take the first exit onto 'Ulica Novaka Miloševa'. Follow this street, and you will arrive at Independence Square, which will be on your right. The walk should take about 20-25 minutes.
