Getting There

    Starting from the Old Town of Kotor, head towards the northern exit of the town, which is marked by the North Gate (or 'Northern Gate'). Once you exit through the gate, you will find a steep path leading up the hillside. Follow this path as it winds upwards. The path is paved and has several switchbacks, making it easier to climb. Continue walking along this path, and you will eventually see the entrance to Kotor Fortress ahead. The hike will take about 30-40 minutes, depending on your pace, and offers stunning views of Kotor and the bay along the way.

    If you are near the Maritime Museum in the Old Town, exit the museum and head towards the main square, then proceed to the North Gate. Follow the same instructions as above from the North Gate to reach Kotor Fortress.
