Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the nearest town, Gusinje. Head south on the main road (E80) towards the village of Bistrica. After approximately 12 kilometers, you will reach the junction to turn onto a gravel road leading into the Prokletije National Park. The road conditions can be poor, so a 4x4 vehicle is highly recommended. Drive carefully for about 8 kilometers until you reach a small parking area at the edge of Hrid Lake. From the parking area, there is a short hiking trail that leads directly to the lake.

Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a bus from Podgorica to Gusinje. The journey takes about 2.5 to 3 hours. Once in Gusinje, you can either arrange for a local taxi to take you to Hrid Lake or join a local tour that includes transportation. Taxis may cost around 20-30 Euros for a one-way trip. If you prefer to hike, you can walk from Gusinje to the lake, which is about a 20-kilometer trek, taking you through beautiful landscapes and into the national park.

If you are an adventurous traveler, you can hike to Hrid Lake from the nearby village of Vusanje. The hike is approximately 15 kilometers and takes around 4-5 hours. Start by following the marked trails that lead you through scenic valleys and past waterfalls. Ensure you have good hiking boots and enough water and snacks, as there are no facilities along the way. The path is well-marked but be prepared for some steep sections.
