Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the town of Mojkovac, which is about 30 km from Tara. From Mojkovac, take the road towards the Tara River Gorge (Tara Canyon) and follow the signs for Đurđevića Tara. The drive will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you reach Đurđevića Tara, look for parking areas near the famous Đurđevića Tara Bridge. Parking may incur a fee of around 2-5 euros depending on the time of year.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, take a bus from the nearby city of Nikšić or Podgorica to the town of Mojkovac. Buses operate regularly, and the fare is typically around 5-10 euros. Once you arrive in Mojkovac, you can either take a local taxi (which may cost around 10-15 euros) or wait for the next bus heading towards Đurđevića Tara. The bus ride will take about 30 minutes.
Taxi/Private Transfer
If you prefer a more direct route, consider hiring a taxi or booking a private transfer from either Podgorica or Nikšić to Đurđevića Tara. The cost for a taxi from Podgorica is approximately 50-70 euros, and the journey takes about 1.5 hours. Ensure to negotiate the fare before starting your trip.
Walking
If you are already in the vicinity of Đurđevića Tara, walking to various viewpoints along the Tara River can be a rewarding experience. Be sure to follow the marked trails and stay hydrated. The area is known for its stunning natural beauty, so take your time to enjoy the surroundings.
