Walking
If you're starting from the Essaouira Medina, head towards the main entrance of the Medina, known as Bab Doukkala. Once you exit, follow the main road (Avenue Mohammed V) that leads towards the beach. Continue straight for about 10 minutes until you reach the coast. You'll see the old city walls ahead. Walk along the walls until you reach the Rue Laalouj, where the Old Fortress is located. The canons are situated at coordinates G67H+W3H, Rue Laalouj, Essaouira.

From the Essaouira Port, exit the port area and head north along the coastline. You'll see the wall of the Old Medina on your left. Continue walking past the ramparts until you reach Rue Laalouj. The Old Fortress with the 18th Century Portuguese canons will be located at G67H+W3H on this street.

If you have rented a bicycle, start from the Medina and head towards the beach along Avenue Mohammed V. Once you reach the beach, turn left and cycle along the coast towards the Old Medina walls. Follow the path along the walls until you reach Rue Laalouj where the Old Fortress is located at G67H+W3H. Make sure to park your bike securely before exploring the fortress.
