Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Meknes train station, exit the station and head towards Avenue de l'Indépendance. Turn left onto Avenue de l'Indépendance and walk straight for about 1 kilometer. Keep an eye out for local shops and cafes as you walk. When you reach the intersection with Avenue Moulay Ismail, turn right and continue walking until you see the large square called Place El-Hedim. This is a bustling area filled with vendors and street performers. From Place El-Hedim, walk towards the Medina entrance, which is marked by the iconic Bab Mansour gate. Enter the Medina and take the first left onto Rue des Souks. Continue straight for a few minutes until you reach the intersection with Rue de la Mosquee. Turn right and you will find Mosquee on your left.

    If you are at the Moulay Ismail University, exit the campus and head south on Avenue Moulay Ismail. Walk straight for approximately 500 meters until you reach the intersection with Avenue de l'Indépendance. Cross the street and continue straight towards the Medina entrance at Bab Mansour. Once inside the Medina, follow the same route detailed above from Place El-Hedim.

    From the Royal Palace (Dar El-Makhzen), exit the palace grounds and head east on Avenue de la Victoire. Walk for about 700 meters until you reach Place El-Hedim. From there, follow the directions to the Medina and take Rue des Souks until you reach Mosquee.
