Getting There

  If you're driving from Ourika Valley to Koutoubia, start by heading north on the N9 road towards Marrakech. The journey takes approximately 45 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you reach Marrakech, follow the signs for the Medina district. As you get closer, look for signs directing you to the Koutoubia Mosque, which is located at the heart of the Medina. The mosque is easily recognizable by its tall minaret, which towers over the surrounding buildings. Note that parking can be challenging in the Medina, so you may need to park in a designated area and walk a short distance to the mosque.

• Public Transportation (Bus)

  For those using public transport, you can take a bus from Ourika Valley to Marrakech. Look for buses heading towards Marrakech at the main bus station in Ourika. The ticket price is usually around 30 MAD (Moroccan Dirham). Once you arrive at the Marrakech bus station, you can either walk or take a taxi to Koutoubia. If you choose to walk, it's about a 20-minute walk through the bustling streets of the Medina. Just follow the main road towards the Koutoubia Mosque, and you will see the minaret guiding you. Taxis are also available at the bus station, with fares ranging from 20 to 50 MAD, depending on the distance.

  If you prefer a more direct and comfortable option, you can hire a taxi from Ourika Valley to Koutoubia. Negotiate the fare before starting your journey; expect to pay around 300-400 MAD for a one-way trip, depending on your negotiation skills and the type of taxi. The taxi will take you directly to the mosque, and you can enjoy the scenic views along the way. This option is ideal if you're traveling with a group or have luggage.
