Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Rabat Ville train station, exit the station and head southeast toward Avenue de la République. Continue straight on Avenue de la République until you reach Avenue Mohammed V. Turn left onto Avenue Mohammed V and walk for about 500 meters until you reach the intersection with Avenue Hassan II. Turn right onto Avenue Hassan II and walk for another 600 meters. You will come to a large roundabout. Take the second exit onto Avenue de la Victoire and continue straight for about 1 kilometer. You will see signs for Salé. Follow the signs, which will lead you toward the Bouregreg River. Cross the river via the bridge (Pont Hassan II). Once you cross the bridge, continue straight and head toward the Medina of Salé. As you walk through the Medina, look for signs pointing to the Medina Bastion.

  • Public Transport

    From Rabat, take tram line T2 from Gare Rabat Ville (the main train station) towards Salé. Get off at the 'Salé' station. From there, head south on Rue de la République toward Rue de l’Indépendance. Continue straight for about 300 meters until you reach Place de la Libération. Turn right at the square onto Rue du 9 Avril. Continue walking for about 500 meters, and you will reach the entrance to the Medina. Keep an eye out for signs for the Medina Bastion as you navigate through the narrow streets of the Medina.

  • Walking

    If you are near the Hassan Tower, start by heading northeast toward Avenue de la République. Walk along Avenue de la République for about 1 kilometer until you reach Avenue Mohammed V. Turn left on Avenue Mohammed V and continue walking until you reach Avenue Hassan II. Turn right on Avenue Hassan II and walk towards the roundabout. Take the second exit onto Avenue de la Victoire, continue straight for 1 kilometer, and cross the Pont Hassan II bridge. After crossing the bridge, follow the signs into the Medina of Salé, and look for the Medina Bastion.
