The drive is approximately 10-15 minutes depending on your exact starting point. Ensure you have a reliable GPS as the desert roads can be challenging.
Public Transportation
From Merzouga, you can take a shared taxi (grand taxi) which costs around 20 MAD per person. Head to the grand taxi station in Merzouga and look for taxis heading towards the desert. The ride will take about 20 minutes. Make sure to confirm that the driver knows your destination (Sahara Desert) before starting your journey.
