Car
If you are driving from Zemmour, head southwest on the main road (N9) towards Marrakesh. The journey will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on traffic. Once you reach Marrakesh, follow the signs for Medina. The Koutoubia Mosque is located in the heart of the Medina. You can park your car at a nearby parking facility (check for parking signs as you enter the Medina) and walk to the mosque. It’s a short 5-10 minute walk through the bustling streets.
Public Transportation
To reach Koutoubia by public transportation, take a local bus or a shared taxi (known as 'grand taxi') from Zemmour to Marrakesh. The bus station is located near the central market. The journey may take about 1.5 to 2 hours. Upon arriving at the Marrakesh bus station, you can either walk to Koutoubia (about a 20-minute walk) or take a local taxi. If you choose to walk, head towards the Medina, and follow the signs to Koutoubia Mosque. Taxi fares should be negotiated beforehand, with prices typically around 20-30 MAD.
