Car
If you are driving from Pemba, start by heading south on the EN1 road. Follow the signs for the Quirimbas Archipelago and enjoy the scenic views along the way. After approximately 30 km, look for signs indicating the turn towards Praia de Wimbi. This road will lead you directly to the beach, where you can find parking available nearby. Make sure to have some local currency for any parking fees which may apply.
Public Transportation
From Pemba, you can take a shared taxi (known as 'chapas') heading towards the outskirts of the city. These taxis will drop you off at the nearest point to Praia de Wimbi. The fare is usually around 20-50 MZN depending on your starting point. After getting off, you may need to walk a short distance (approximately 1 km) to reach the beach. Ask locals for directions if you are unsure; they are usually very helpful.
Boat Transfer
If you are staying on one of the islands in the Quirimbas Archipelago, you can arrange for a boat transfer to Praia de Wimbi. Many local operators offer this service, and costs can vary widely depending on the distance and size of the boat. Be sure to negotiate the price in advance to avoid any surprises. The ride typically takes around 30-45 minutes depending on your location.
