Getting There

  • Car

    If you're driving from Bago Region to Yangon Zoo, start by heading south on Highway 1 towards Yangon. Take the exit towards the city center and follow the signs for Pyay Road. Continue on Pyay Road until you reach a junction; take a right onto Kan Yeik Tha Road. The zoo will be on your left-hand side. The total journey will take approximately 2 to 2.5 hours depending on traffic. Make sure to check for any tolls along the highway.

  • Public Transportation (Bus)

    To reach Yangon Zoo from Bago Region using public transportation, take a local bus from Bago to Yangon. The buses leave regularly from the Bago Bus Station and the journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive at the Aung Mingalar Bus Station in Yangon, take a taxi to the zoo. The taxi ride will take around 20 minutes. Expect to pay approximately 2,000 to 3,000 MMK for the taxi.

    You can also travel from Bago to Yangon by train. Board a train at Bago Railway Station heading towards Yangon. The train journey takes around 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive at Yangon Central Railway Station, you can take a taxi to Yangon Zoo. The taxi ride will take about 15 to 20 minutes and will cost around 2,000 to 3,000 MMK.
