Car
From Bagan, take the Nyaung-U to Popa Road (also known as the Bagan-Popa Road). Drive approximately 50 kilometers southeast for about 1 hour. Look for signs directing you to Mt Popa, which is located to the east of the main road. There is a parking area available near the base of the mountain.

Public Transportation (Bus)
From Bagan, head to the bus station and take a local bus bound for Kyaukpadaung. The bus ride takes about 1 hour and costs around 1,000 MMK (Myanmar Kyat). Once you arrive in Kyaukpadaung, you can take a taxi or hire a motorbike to reach Mt Popa, which is about 20 kilometers away and will cost you around 5,000-10,000 MMK.

If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from Bagan. The taxi fare will generally range from 15,000 to 25,000 MMK for a one-way trip. The journey will take about 1 hour, and you can arrange for the driver to wait for you while you explore the mountain.

Motorbike Rental
For the more adventurous traveler, renting a motorbike in Bagan is an option. Rental shops can provide bikes for around 8,000-12,000 MMK per day. From Bagan, follow the same route to Mt Popa, ensuring to take care on the roads as they can be busy and not well maintained. The ride will take about 1 hour.
