Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the nearest city in the Dry Zone, such as Magway or Minbu. From Magway, take the Pyay-Magway Road (also known as National Highway 1) heading towards Minbu. Continue on this road for approximately 50 km until you reach Hpa Yar Gyi. Once in Hpa Yar Gyi, look for local signs directing you to Wingabaw Elephant Camp, which is located at FFFC+C7C. Follow the local roads to the camp, which is approximately 10 minutes from the town center.
Public Transportation
To reach Wingabaw Elephant Camp using public transportation, first take a bus from Magway to Hpa Yar Gyi. Buses leave frequently from the central bus station in Magway and the fare is typically around 2,000 kyats. The journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Upon arrival in Hpa Yar Gyi, you can hire a local taxi or trishaw for about 1,000 to 3,000 kyats to take you to Wingabaw Elephant Camp at FFFC+C7C.
