Getting There

  • Walking

    From the main market area in Kalaw, start walking down the main road (Aung San Road) towards the south. Continue straight until you reach the junction with Forest Road. At this juncture, you will see a sign pointing towards 'Ward 3'. Turn left onto Forest Road. Keep walking straight for about 1 kilometer. You will pass a few local shops and cafés along the way. Thitaw Lay House is located on the left side of the road, look for the sign that says 'Thitaw Lay House' just before you reach the end of Forest Road.

    If you are starting from the Kalaw Train Station, exit the station and turn right. Walk down the road for about 500 meters until you reach the junction with Aung San Road. Turn left onto Aung San Road and continue walking straight until you reach the junction with Forest Road. Follow the previous directions from this junction to reach Thitaw Lay House.

  • Walking

    For those staying near the Kalaw Green Hill Hotel, exit the hotel and walk straight down the hill towards the town center. Continue walking towards Aung San Road. When you reach Aung San Road, turn left and walk straight until you reach the Forest Road junction. Turn left onto Forest Road and follow the instructions to Thitaw Lay House as described earlier.
