Getting there

Car

If you are driving from Yangon, take the Ayeyarwady Region Highway towards Pathein. After approximately 160 km, turn onto the road towards Ngwesaung Beach. Continue for about 45 km until you reach Ngwesaung. From Ngwesaung, follow the signs to Lovers Island. There may be parking available near the beach.

Bus

From Yangon, you can take a bus to Ngwesaung Beach. Buses leave from the Aung Mingalar Bus Terminal in Yangon. The journey takes approximately 6-8 hours depending on traffic. Once you arrive in Ngwesaung, you can either walk or take a local transport (like a taxi or motorbike taxi) to Lovers Island, which is about 5 km from the main bus station.

Motorbike Taxi

Once in Ngwesaung, you can hire a motorbike taxi to take you directly to Lovers Island. This ride should take around 10-15 minutes and costs approximately 2,000-3,000 MMK. Make sure to negotiate the price before starting your journey.

Boat

If you want to reach Lovers Island from the beach, you may need to hire a local boat, especially if the tide is low and direct access is limited. Prices for boat rides can vary, so it's advisable to ask locals for the best options and negotiate the fare. Boats typically take around 10 minutes to reach the island.
