Getting There

  • Car

    If you are traveling by car, start from Mawlamyine, the capital of Mon State. Head east on the A1 highway towards Kyaikto. After approximately 20 kilometers, you will approach the Mawlamyine Bridge. Just before the bridge, take a right turn onto the road leading to the ferry terminal for Bilu Island, located at the southern bank of the Thanlwin River. The ferry terminal is well-signposted. The ferry ride costs around 1,000 MMK per person and takes about 20 minutes to reach the island.

  • Bus/Public Transportation

    For those traveling via public transportation, take a bus from Mawlamyine to Kyaikto. Buses run frequently from the main bus station and the fare is approximately 2,000 MMK. Upon reaching Kyaikto, you will need to find a taxi or a motorbike taxi to take you to the ferry terminal. The cost for a taxi will be around 3,000 MMK. Once at the terminal, purchase your ferry ticket (about 1,000 MMK) and board the ferry to Bilu Island.

  • Motorbike

    If you prefer a more adventurous route, you can rent a motorbike in Mawlamyine. After renting, head east on the A1 highway towards Kyaikto. Follow the same direction as the car instructions until you reach the ferry terminal. Be cautious while riding, as road conditions may vary. The ferry ride costs 1,000 MMK, and you can either stay on your bike or leave it at the terminal (if there's a parking option available).
