Car
If you're traveling by car, head towards Mawlamyine, the capital of Mon State. From the city center, drive towards Kyaik Than Lan Pagoda, which is approximately 3 km away. Follow the signs for Kyaik Than Lan Pagoda; it will be located on a hill, providing a scenic view of the city. Parking is available near the base of the pagoda. Be prepared for some uphill walking to reach the pagoda itself.
Public Transportation (Bus)
To reach Kyaik Than Lan Pagoda using public transportation, find a local bus that heads towards Mawlamyine. Once you arrive at Mawlamyine bus station, look for a local taxi or a motorbike taxi to take you to Kyaik Than Lan Pagoda, which is about 5 minutes away from the bus station. The taxi fare should be around 1,000 to 2,000 MMK (approximately $0.50 to $1).
Walking
If you are already in Mawlamyine, you can walk to Kyaik Than Lan Pagoda. Starting from the city center, head towards the pagoda, which is visible from many points in the city due to its elevated position. The walk is about 30-40 minutes, depending on your pace. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes, as the path includes some steep sections.
Motorbike Rental
For more flexibility, consider renting a motorbike in Mawlamyine. Rental shops are available in the city, and you can rent a motorbike for around 5,000 to 10,000 MMK (about $2.50 to $5) per day. After renting, navigate to Kyaik Than Lan Pagoda using a map or GPS. The ride will take approximately 10-15 minutes. Parking is available near the pagoda.
