Getting There

  • Walking

    Start your journey from the center of Pyay, near the Pyay Market. Head east on Thiri Mingalar Road, walking towards the intersection with Yangon-Pyay Road. Continue straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the traffic lights. At the traffic lights, turn left onto Yangon-Pyay Road, and walk for approximately 2 kilometers. Look for the signs indicating Mae La Mu Pagoda on your right. You will see a small path leading off the main road. Follow this path for about 300 meters until you reach the pagoda.

  • Bicycle

    Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops near Pyay Market. From the market, cycle east along Thiri Mingalar Road for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Yangon-Pyay Road. Turn left onto Yangon-Pyay Road and continue cycling for approximately 2 kilometers. As you approach Mae La Mu Pagoda, look for the signs and a small path leading off to the right. Follow this path for about 300 meters until you arrive at the pagoda.

    Find a tuk-tuk near the Pyay Market. Negotiate the fare and ask the driver to take you to Mae La Mu Pagoda. The driver will take you along Thiri Mingalar Road, then onto Yangon-Pyay Road. After approximately 3.5 kilometers, you will arrive at a point where the driver can drop you off at the entrance path leading to the pagoda. From there, walk about 300 meters to reach the pagoda.
