Walking
If you are in the center of Pyin Oo Lwin, start at the local market area, known as the Nan Myaung Market. From the market, head east on 26th Street for about 500 meters until you reach the junction with 4th Street. Turn left onto 4th Street and continue straight for another 300 meters. You will find yourself at the Pyin Oo Lwin Railway Station, which is a historical site and a great place to start your exploration.
Bicycle Rental
For a more scenic route, consider renting a bicycle from one of the local shops near the clock tower in the town center. Cycle towards the Botanical Garden, which is about 2 kilometers away. Take the main road heading southwest, and after approximately 1 kilometer, you will see signposts guiding you to the gardens. Enjoy the lush greenery and various flower exhibits once you arrive.
Horse Cart
For a unique experience, hire a horse cart (also known as a 'trishaw') from the main square. You can negotiate a price with the driver. Ask to be taken to the local attractions, such as the Pwe Kauk Waterfall, which is about 8 kilometers from the town center. The ride will take around 30-40 minutes, and the scenery along the way is quite picturesque with views of the surrounding hills.
Local Bus
To reach more distant attractions, like the Peik Chin Myaung Cave, locate the local bus station near the clock tower. Look for buses heading towards the cave, which is approximately 12 kilometers away. The fare is inexpensive, and the journey will take around 30 minutes. Make sure to confirm with the bus driver that they are going to your desired destination before boarding.
