If you are traveling by car to Sagaing, start from Mandalay. Head west on the Mandalay-Sagaing road (also known as the Sagaing-Mandalay Road). After approximately 20 minutes, you will reach the entrance of Sagaing. Look for signs pointing to Sagaing Hill. Drive up Sagaing Mountain Road to reach the scenic views and monasteries of Sagaing Hills. Be cautious as the road can be steep and winding.
Public Transportation (Bus)
To travel by bus, go to the Mandalay Central Bus Station. Look for buses that head towards Sagaing; these are usually marked with 'Sagaing' on the front. The bus ride takes around 30 minutes and costs approximately 500-1000 MMK (Myanmar Kyat). Once you reach the Sagaing bus terminal, you can take a local taxi or a trishaw to your specific destination in Sagaing.
