Car
If you are driving from Swakopmund, take the B2 road south towards Walvis Bay. Continue on the B2 for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the turnoff for the D1986 Kovambo Nujoma Road. Turn left onto D1986 and follow the road for about 10 kilometers. You will see signs for the Walvis Bay Lagoon. Look for parking areas near the lagoon view point where you can safely stop and enjoy the scenery.
Public Transport
To reach Walvis Bay Lagoon Safe View Point 2 using public transport, take a local shuttle or bus service from Swakopmund to Walvis Bay. These services run frequently and will drop you off at the central bus station in Walvis Bay. From there, you can take a taxi or a rideshare service to the Lagoon Area on D1986 Kovambo Nujoma Road. Ensure you confirm the fare with the taxi driver before starting your journey.
Bicycle
For the adventurous, cycling from Swakopmund to Walvis Bay is an option. The distance is around 30 kilometers along the B2 road. It’s advisable to have a sturdy bicycle and wear protective gear. Once you arrive at the Lagoon Area, you can lock your bike at designated bike racks near the Safe View Point.
Walking
If you are staying close to the lagoon area, walking is a great option to enjoy the scenery. However, keep in mind that the distance from central Walvis Bay to the Lagoon Area is approximately 6 kilometers. Follow the main road towards the lagoon, and be cautious of traffic. Bring water and wear comfortable footwear.
