Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the town of Omaruru. From Omaruru, take the C33 road heading west towards the town of Karibib. After approximately 50 km, you will reach a junction. Turn left onto the C39 road. Continue on the C39 for about 60 km until you see signs for Doro Nawas Camp. The camp is located about 10 km off the C39 on a gravel road. Please note that a 4x4 vehicle is recommended for the last stretch of the journey.
Public Transport
To reach Doro Nawas Camp using public transportation, take a bus from Windhoek to Omaruru. Buses from Windhoek to Omaruru depart regularly and the journey takes about 3-4 hours. Once in Omaruru, you will need to hire a taxi or arrange for a shuttle service to take you to Doro Nawas Camp. Make sure to confirm the fare before starting your journey, as it may vary depending on the provider. It's advisable to book the shuttle in advance, as services may not be frequent.
Taxi
If you prefer a taxi for convenience, you can take a taxi directly from Omaruru to Doro Nawas Camp. This option is more costly compared to public transport but will provide a more direct route. Expect to pay around N$ 800 to N$ 1,200 for the journey, depending on the negotiation with the driver. Always agree on the price before starting your trip.
Combination
Another option is to take a bus from Windhoek to Omaruru and then rent a car in Omaruru. This way, you can drive yourself to Doro Nawas Camp. Car rental agencies are available in Omaruru. Make sure to reserve your rental vehicle in advance, especially during peak tourist season. After renting a car, follow the same driving directions as mentioned above from Omaruru.
