Getting There

Car
If you're traveling by car from Erongo, start your journey by heading north on the B1 road towards Otjiwarongo. After approximately 210 kilometers, you will reach the T-junction near Otjiwarongo. Turn left onto the C38 road, which takes you directly to the Etosha National Park. Continue on the C38 for about 80 kilometers until you reach the Anderson Gate, the main entrance to the park. Note that there is an entrance fee to get into Etosha National Park, so be prepared to pay at the gate. Once inside, follow the signs to Okaukuejo, which is about 17 kilometers from the Anderson Gate. The journey should take around 3-4 hours depending on traffic and road conditions.

Public Transportation
For those opting for public transportation, your best bet is to take a long-distance bus from Swakopmund or Walvis Bay to Outjo, which is the nearest town to Etosha National Park. The journey can take around 6-7 hours. Once in Outjo, you can arrange for a taxi or shuttle service to take you to the Anderson Gate of Etosha National Park. This taxi ride will take approximately 1 hour and will cost you around N$ 800-1000 (Namibian Dollars). Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand. Upon reaching Anderson Gate, you’ll need to pay the entrance fee to the park, and then you can continue to Okaukuejo, which is about 17 kilometers inside the park.
