Okahandja-Karibib Rest Area: A Scenic Stopover in Namibia

Getting There

• Walking

  From the central point in Karibib, head east on Main Street toward the intersection with the B2 road. Continue straight for approximately 1 kilometer until you reach the B2 road. Turn left onto the B2 road and walk for about 5 kilometers. You will pass local shops and residential areas along the way. Keep an eye out for the signs indicating Wilhelmstal, which will guide you towards your destination. The rest area is located off the B2 road, approximately 1 kilometer past the sign for Wilhelmstal.

• Bicycle

  Starting from the Karibib town center, take Main Street heading east. After around 1 kilometer, turn left onto the B2 road. This route is about 5 kilometers long. The B2 road is a main road, so be cautious of vehicles. You will pass by the outskirts of Karibib and enter more rural areas. Look for signage indicating Wilhelmstal, and after about 1 kilometer past this sign, you will find the Okahandja-Karibib Rest Area on your right side.

• Public Transport

  While Karibib does not have a formal public transport system, you can ask local taxi services or shuttle buses for transport towards Wilhelmstal. Request to be dropped off at the Okahandja-Karibib Rest Area. Before departing, ensure that you confirm the fare and the exact drop-off point with the driver. This is a convenient option if you prefer not to walk or cycle.
