Getting There

  • Car

    If you are traveling by car, start from Rundu, the largest town in Kavango East. Head east on the B10 highway for about 40 km. Then take the turnoff toward Shamburo. Follow the signs for Shamburo and drive for approximately 15 km. Upon reaching Shamburo, navigate to the location MXMV+C82. The observatory is located just off the main road in this area.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach the Namibia Space Observatory using public transportation, take a minibus taxi from Rundu to Shamburo. These can be found at the Rundu taxi rank. The journey to Shamburo takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive in Shamburo, you can either walk or take a local taxi to the location MXMV+C82, which is a short distance from the main road. Make sure to ask the driver to drop you off close to the observatory.
