If you're traveling by car, start from the nearest town, which is Swakopmund. Head south on the B2 road towards Walvis Bay for about 30 km. Then take the C14 road towards Sandwich Harbour. After approximately 50 km on the C14, you'll reach a junction. Turn right onto the Dune Road which leads directly to Sandwich Bay. The entrance to the Dune Colby area is about 10 km down this road. Please note that a 4x4 vehicle is recommended for navigating the sandy terrain. Parking may be available near the base of the dune.

For those using public transportation, take a bus from Swakopmund to Walvis Bay, which costs around $8. From Walvis Bay, you can hire a local taxi or a shuttle service to take you to Sandwich Bay. The taxi fare might range from $20 to $30. Inform the driver that you want to go to Dune Colby. If you prefer a guided tour, there are operators in Swakopmund that offer day trips to Sandwich Bay and Dune Colby, costing approximately $70 per person, which includes transport and guidance.
