Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the nearest major town, which is Sesriem. Head north on the C19 road towards the Sossusvlei area. After approximately 60 kilometers, you will reach the junction with the C27. Turn left onto the C27 and continue for about 30 kilometers, following signs for the Namib-Naukluft National Park. As you enter the park, you will be required to pay an entrance fee, which is around N$ 80 per person. Continue driving for about 40 kilometers along the C27 until you reach the Kodak Point area, located at coordinates -23.3533125, 14.5016875. Look for signs indicating Kodak Point as you approach. Once parked, walk a short distance to the viewpoint for stunning desert vistas.
Public Transportation
For those relying on public transportation, begin your journey from Windhoek. Take a shuttle or bus service to Sesriem, which is the closest town to the Namib Desert. This trip takes around 5-6 hours and costs approximately N$ 500. Once in Sesriem, you can hire a taxi to take you to Kodak Point, which is about 60 kilometers away. Ensure to negotiate the fare beforehand; it should be around N$ 700-900 for the round trip. The driver will take you to the entrance of the Namib-Naukluft National Park, where you will need to pay an entrance fee of about N$ 80 per person. After reaching Kodak Point, you can explore the area and enjoy the breathtaking views.
