Car
From the main entrance of Namib-Naukluft National Park, head south on the C14 road towards the town of Walvis Bay. Continue on the C14 for approximately 50 kilometers until you reach the junction with the B2. Take a right turn onto the B2 road and drive for about 10 kilometers. Look for the sign for Lagoon Promenade and turn left. Follow Lagoon Promenade Road until you reach Flamingo Lagoon, located at the coordinates 2FGH+JCW. The entire drive will take around 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Public Transportation
While public transportation options are limited, you can take a shuttle or bus service from Swakopmund to Walvis Bay. Once in Walvis Bay, you'll need to arrange for a taxi or local transport to Lagoon Promenade Road. Make sure to check the schedules in advance, as services may run infrequently. The cost of the shuttle from Swakopmund to Walvis Bay can vary but expect to pay around 100-150 NAD ($7-10). Taxis from Walvis Bay to Flamingo Lagoon may cost an additional 50-100 NAD ($4-7).
Bicycle
For the adventurous, consider cycling from the Namib-Naukluft National Park to Flamingo Lagoon. Make your way to the C14 road heading south towards Walvis Bay. The ride is about 50 kilometers and could take approximately 3-4 hours depending on your fitness level. Ensure you have plenty of water and snacks, and be prepared for the desert climate. Once you reach Walvis Bay, follow the directions for cars to Lagoon Promenade Road. This option is physically demanding but offers a unique way to experience the landscape.
