Car Rental
From Oshikoto, head southeast on the C38 road. Continue for approximately 80 kilometers until you reach the junction with the C35. Turn left onto the C35 and follow it for around 20 kilometers. Look for signs directing you towards Namutoni. After about 10 kilometers, you will arrive at the King Nehale Waterhole, located near Namutoni. Ensure you have a GPS or map app as the roads can be less well-marked.
Public Transportation
Start at the main bus station in Oshikoto. Take a bus heading towards Namutoni, which runs regularly throughout the day. The fare is usually around 50 Namibian dollars (NAD). The bus ride takes approximately 2 hours. Once you arrive at the Namutoni bus stop, you can either walk (about 2 km) to the King Nehale Waterhole or hire a local taxi for around 100 NAD to take you directly to the waterhole.
Taxi Service
If you prefer a direct route, consider hiring a taxi from Oshikoto to King Nehale Waterhole. This option is more expensive, typically costing around 500 NAD for a one-way trip. Ensure you agree on the fare before starting your journey. The taxi will take you directly to the entrance of King Nehale Waterhole, making it convenient and hassle-free.
