Car
To reach Onkoshi Resort by car from the center of Oshikoto, start by heading south on the B1 road. Follow the B1 for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the turn-off for the D3196 road. Turn right onto the D3196 and continue for about 15 kilometers. You will see signs for Onkoshi Resort along the way. The resort is situated on the eastern shores of Lake Otjikoto. Ensure your vehicle has enough fuel, as there are limited fuel stations along the route.
Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, you will first need to catch a bus or shuttle from Oshikoto to Tsumeb, which is about 20 kilometers away. Once in Tsumeb, look for local taxis or shuttles heading towards Lake Otjikoto. Confirm with the driver that they can drop you off at Onkoshi Resort. The total travel time may vary, so it's advisable to start early in the day. Expect to pay around 50-100 Namibian dollars for the taxi ride from Tsumeb to the resort. Make sure to check the schedules in advance as they may not run frequently.
Taxi
For a more direct route, consider hiring a taxi from Oshikoto directly to Onkoshi Resort. This option is more expensive but offers convenience. Negotiate the fare beforehand; expect to pay around 600-800 Namibian dollars for the trip, depending on the provider. The driver should be familiar with the route to the resort. Ensure you have a map or GPS available to assist in navigation.
