Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Otjiwarongo, start at the Otjiwarongo Police Station. Head southeast on the main road (B1) towards the direction of the train station. Walk along the B1 for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the turnoff to the Okonjima Nature Reserve, which will be a signposted road on your left. This road will lead you directly to the Okonjima Plains Camp, which is approximately 12 kilometers from this intersection. Continue straight on the gravel road, following the signs to Okonjima Plains Camp.

  • Bicycle

    If you prefer cycling, start at the Otjiwarongo Town Park. Ride along the main road (B1) heading southeast for about 1.5 kilometers. Look for the turnoff for Okonjima Nature Reserve on your left. Once on the gravel road, it is about a 12-kilometer ride to the camp. Be cautious of any vehicles as this road may have traffic.

  • Taxi

    You can hire a taxi from any point in Otjiwarongo. Simply tell the driver you want to go to Okonjima Plains Camp, located within the Okonjima Nature Reserve. The journey will take approximately 20 to 30 minutes depending on traffic. Make sure to agree on the fare before starting your journey.
