From the main Spitzkoppe campsite, head northeast on the gravel road towards the Pontok Mountains. Follow the signs for Montañas Pontok, which are marked along the way. The drive is approximately 30-40 minutes and may require a high-clearance vehicle due to rough terrain. Ensure your vehicle has enough fuel, as there are no gas stations along this route.
Public Transportation
Utilize the local taxi services (often referred to as 'combis') from the nearest town, Usakos, to Spitzkoppe. Once in Spitzkoppe, you may need to hire a local guide or a 4x4 vehicle to reach Montañas Pontok, as public transport does not extend to this location. Expect to pay additional costs for the guide and vehicle hire, which can range from N$ 500 to N$ 1000 depending on the duration and distance.
Hiking
If you are adventurous and physically fit, you might consider hiking from the main Spitzkoppe campsite. This trek will take you approximately 2-3 hours, depending on your pace.
