Getting There

• Car

  From Spitzkoppe, head south on the B2 road. Continue driving on the B2 for approximately 95 kilometers. Look for the signs indicating Swakopmund. Once you reach Swakopmund, continue straight until you reach the intersection with Strand Street. Turn left onto Strand Street, and you will find the National Marine Aquarium at 1 Strand St on your right. Ensure you have enough fuel, as the distance is considerable, and there are limited service stations along the route.

• Public Transportation

  Take a taxi or shuttle from Spitzkoppe to Swakopmund. This can be arranged through local lodges or tour operators. The journey will take roughly 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on stops. Once you arrive in Swakopmund, you can walk to the aquarium by heading towards the beach area. When you reach the beachfront, turn left onto Strand Street, and the National Marine Aquarium will be located at 1 Strand St. You may incur a fare for the taxi or shuttle, typically around N$150 to N$250 depending on the service.

• Rental Vehicle

  If you prefer a rental vehicle, you can book one in Swakopmund after arriving there via taxi or shuttle from Spitzkoppe. This would allow you to explore the area at your leisure. Once you have a vehicle, follow the directions provided for car travel from Spitzkoppe to Swakopmund. Remember to return the rental vehicle to the same location.
