Car
If you are traveling by car in Spitzkoppe, start from the Spitzkoppe Campsite. Head northeast on the D1937 road, which is well-marked. Continue driving for about 8 kilometers until you reach a small parking area for Philipps Cave. The cave is slightly off the road, so you may need to walk a short distance to reach the entrance.
Walking
Once you have parked your car at the designated area near Philipps Cave, exit your vehicle and follow the path marked by local signage. The trail is relatively easy to navigate, leading you directly to the entrance of the cave. Make sure to wear comfortable footwear as the terrain may be uneven.
Public Transportation
If you are relying on public transportation, the best option is to take a shuttle service or arranged tour from Swakopmund to Spitzkoppe, which typically includes stops at various attractions. Upon reaching Spitzkoppe, you will need to hire a local guide to take you to Philipps Cave, as public transport does not go directly to the cave. Costs for the shuttle can vary but expect to pay around 300-400 NAD per person for a round trip.
