Getting There

    From the center of Swakopmund, start by heading south on Sam Nujoma Avenue. Continue straight until you reach the traffic circle. At the traffic circle, take the second exit onto Strand Street. Follow Strand Street until you reach the intersection with Lagoon Promenade Road. Turn left onto Lagoon Promenade Road, and you will see Flamingo Lagoon on your left-hand side. The walk should take approximately 30-40 minutes.

    If you have access to a bicycle, you can make your way to Flamingo Lagoon faster. Start at the Swakopmund Jetty, head south on Strand Street, and follow the same route as if walking. After reaching Lagoon Promenade Road, turn left and continue biking along the promenade. This route will take about 15-20 minutes depending on your cycling speed.

    To reach Flamingo Lagoon using public transport, walk to the nearest minibus stop on Sam Nujoma Avenue. Take a minibus heading towards Walvis Bay.
