Car
From Zambezi, head southeast on the A33 road towards Katima Mulilo. Continue for approximately 120 km until you reach the junction with the B8 road. Turn right onto the B8 road and drive for around 120 km until you reach Maun. In Maun, fuel up and prepare for the next leg of your journey. From Maun, take the A35 road heading northeast for about 70 km until you reach the turnoff for Nxai Pan National Park. Follow the signs, and after about 30 km on a gravel road, you will arrive at the park entrance.
Public Transportation
From Zambezi, take a bus or shuttle service to Maun. Buses run regularly and the journey takes about 4-5 hours. Upon reaching Maun, you will need to hire a taxi or a local tour operator to take you to Nxai Pan National Park, which is approximately a 100 km drive from Maun. Confirm the cost in advance, as it may range from 800 to 1200 BWP (Botswana Pula) depending on the service. Ensure to schedule your return as public transport can be limited.
Private Transfer
For a more comfortable journey, consider booking a private transfer from Zambezi to Nxai Pan National Park. Contact local travel agencies in Zambezi to arrange a vehicle and driver. This option allows for flexibility and stops along the way. The cost will vary based on the provider but expect to pay around 2000 to 3000 BWP for the trip.
