If you are traveling by car, start by getting onto I-80 E from anywhere in Central Nebraska. Continue on I-80 E until you reach Exit 177 for US-83 N toward North Platte. Merge onto US-83 N and continue on this road. After approximately 2 miles, take the exit for NE-56 W/N Homestead Rd. Continue on N Homestead Rd for about 1 mile, and you will see the Golden Spike Tower on your right at 1249 N Homestead Rd, North Platte, NE 69101.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, start by taking a Greyhound bus to North Platte, as it is the nearest city with bus services. Once you arrive at the North Platte bus station, you can use a local taxi service or rideshare app like Uber or Lyft to get to Golden Spike Tower. The tower is located about 6 miles from the bus station, and the taxi ride should take approximately 15 minutes. Be sure to check the taxi or rideshare fare in advance for a rough estimate of costs.
Walking (from nearby accommodations)
